U.S. DOE Pinellas Plant exemption package for disposal at Envirocare of Utah. Revision 1
The purpose of this document is to request and provide support documentation for an exemption to DOE 5820.2A requirements so that potential mixed waste streams can be treated and disposed of at a commercial facility. As a means to determine the most appropriate mixed waste disposition, an analysis of alternatives was conducted, including the option of sending the waste to a commercial facility. Based on the alternative analysis, the exemption required is to allow approximately 191 cubic meters of mixed waste that is listed or characteristic and contaminated with tritium to be land disposed at the Envirocare facility in Clive, Utah.
