2021, TheriogenologyCitation Excerpt :For species where readily available oocytes are difficult to obtain or in vitro maturation protocols are lacking, research has been conducted using the oocytes of a closely related species, producing cloned embryos and embryo transfer protocols. Canid species are generally classified into fox-like canid and wolf-like canid species, including lycaon [9,10]. The lycaon and dog had the same zonary band of endotheliochorial placenta, and they shared the same diploid chromosome number of 78 [9,10].
