Zusammenfassung

Der Ökosystemdienstleistungs-Ansatz zielt auf eine umfassende ökonomische Bewertung aller Vorteile, die Naturprozesse und -produkte für Menschen haben. Diese Ökonomisierung kann politische Abwägungsprozesse unterstützen und den Naturschutz stärken, insbesondere, wo Natur ein öffentliches Gut darstellt. Sie birgt aber auch Risiken, vor allem, dass Wertschätzungen von Natur unberücksichtigt bleiben, die nicht in subjektiven Präferenzen gründen. Zudem ist die Konzeptualisierung von Natur als Ökosystem unangemessen, wenn es um ihre ästhetischen Qualitäten und symbolischen Bedeutungen geht.
