Abstract
ABSTRACT; Chemical and electrochemical dopings of poly(para-Phenylene SulfideHPPS) in the SO3/H2O system were followed by UV-VIS-NIR spectros-copy. The time evolution of the polymer's absorption bands in concentrated sulfuric acid clearly showed doping-swelling and solubilisation of the material. It was also found that highly concentrated sulfuric acid is necessary for the electrochemical doping of PPS.
