Abstract:
This paper presents the structural response of reinforced concrete tension members. The variables included normal versus high-strength concrete, with and without steel fibers. The influence of steel fibers on the control of splitting cracks and on tension stiffening was investigated. A method of predicting ten-sion stiffening with the presence of steel jbers and the transfer of tensions across cracks after the yielding of the reinforcing bars is proposed.
