The ingredients and processing operations used to fabricate a delivery system should be economical so that the benefits gained from utilizing it outweigh any associated

additional costs. Many of the delivery systems developed in academic laboratories and reported in the scientific literature are unsuitable for commercial application because they are too expensive for large-scale commercial applications.
