Abstract
Reduced polyacetylene electrodes have been modified by reaction with an oxirane or a sultone. These modified electrodes, of stoichiometry , show improved stability in the presence of electrolyte when compared to nonmodified counterparts. Repeated cycling of the reduced form of the modified electrodes vs. Li counterelectrodes at 0.5–1.0 mA/cm2 display 96–99% coulombic efficiency.
