Abstract
Electrochemical surfactant mediated growth of on was investigated experimentally using in situ scanning tunneling microscopy. Almost ideal layer‐by‐layer growth of was obtained using 0.8 of a monolayer of as a surfactant. Atomically flat epitaxial thin films, 200 monolayer in thickness were grown on using this technique. Energy dispersive X‐ray analysis and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry showed no traces of in the layers grown. ©1999 The Electrochemical Society
