Abstract
The PrEProcessor of time invariant parameters required for the boundary data definition in the COSMO-CLM is described. PEP incorporates the present preprocessor from DWD and gives additional access to the geospatial information provided by the ECOCLIMAP data. It processes various global geospatial data into spatial resolution and into rotated coordinates system specified by the user. Available global topography, land cover as well as soil characteristics datasets are reviewed and their use in various processing options of PEP is presented.
Kurzfassung
Es wird der PrEProzessor für die zeitlich konstanten Parameter, die als Randwerte für das COSMO-CLM benötigt werden, beschrieben. PEP enthält den aktuellen Preprozessor des DWD und ermöglicht die zusätzliche Nutzung des ECOCLIMAP Datensatzes. PEP wandelt verschiedene globale geographische Informationen in das vom Nutzer vorgegebene rotierte Koordinatensystem um. Es werden vorhandene Datensätze für Topographie, Bodenbedeckung und Erdbodeneigenschaften und ihre Anwendung in verschiedenen Verarbeitungsoptionen von PEP beschrieben.
