Abstract
In this paper, we describe a simple device for mode division based on fused quartz fiber-optic coupler. An equivalent circuit of a photonic lantern for such a device is considered. The experimental test data of the device samples are presented. As test samples showed, this technology allows to obtain satisfactory parameters for simple and inexpensive devices with one multimode port and 2-5 single-mode ports.
