Synthesis of 2-trifluoromethylcyclohexenones from 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl vinyl ketone

Abstract

2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl vinyl ketone is prepared in two steps from β-chloropropionyl fluoride and 1,1 -difluoroethylene. Condensation of this reagent with enamines or ketols leads to the formation of 2-trifluoromethylcyclohexenones.
