Abstract

Novel insecticidal anthranilamides with elaborated sulfur-containing groups are described. The synthesis of compounds with functional groups such as sulfoximines and scarcely reported groups such as sulfonimidoyl hydrazides and hydroxylamides, their in vitro and in vivo biological activity as well as their physical properties are reported.

In recent decades, sulfoximine, as a monoaza analogue of sulfones, has received witnessed continuous attention owing to they are significant structural units in chiral auxiliaries ligands [1–4] for various catalytic asymmetric reactions [5–8], building blocks for pseudopeptides [9–12], medicinal chemistry and bioactive motif (Fig. 1) [13–19]. Meanwhile, compared with the related sulfone or sulfonamide structures, sulfoximidoyl group has favorable pharmacokinetic properties [20–23], including better solubility in protic solvent [23], hydrogen-bond donor/acceptor functionalities and metabolic stability [19], those can be introduced into molecular scaffolds. As the fascinating structural architecture and extraordinary value of sulfoximines, a varity of N–H/C–H functionalization strategies of sulfoximine and application have been reported [23–28].
