Abstract

A novel method for the preparation of polypyrrole hybrids with polyamines or polyimines is described. The polyreaction is performed by using chemical oxidants, e.g., iron(IR) chloride or ammonium persulfate in acidic solution. The polymer hybrids are soluble in water and have a good processability. 'H-NMR, '3C-NMR, UV-Vis, IR spectroscopy and thermal gravimetric analysis was used for characterization. The physical and chemical properties of the polymer hybrids prepared are compared with those of polypyrrole and the polymeric precursor amine.

In this regards, several attempts have been made to solve this problems by preparing its composite, blend and copolymer [3]. The preparation of composite is a more facile way to improve and advance the properties of constituents of composite [4,5]. Further, several composites of PPy with metal oxides, biopolymers and carboneous materials have been prepared [6–8].
