Iodine Status of Preterm Infants Born in an Area of Iodine Sufficiency: Are They at Risk of Iodine Deficiency?
2022, Endocrine PracticeCitation Excerpt :Based on prior studies, either of the median UICs of ≥100 μg/L16 and ≥ 125 μg/L17 was used to define adequate iodine nutrition in early infancy. A median BMIC of ≥100 μg/L was considered to provide an adequate supply of iodine to breastfed infants.18 Categorical and continuous variables are presented as frequency distribution (percentage), mean ± SD, and median (interquartile range [IQR]).
