ABSTRACT

Melatonin (0.01 uM concentrations or greater) depressed the spontaneous motility of the uterus of virgin ovariectomized rats (a prostaglandin-related phenomenon) as well as the release of PGE from rat medial basal hypothalamus in vitro. In another mcdel system for PG synthesis, i.e the human platelets, melatonin (0.1 mM) inhibited ADP-induced platelet aggregation.
