The effects of organophosphates in the early stages of human skeletal muscle regeneration
2020, Handbook of Toxicology of Chemical Warfare AgentsMyomir dysregulation and reactive oxygen species in aged human satellite cells
2016, Biochemical and Biophysical Research CommunicationsCitation Excerpt :It is worth mentioning, we previously showed apoptotic commitment in elderly myoblasts [17]. The down-regulation of PI3K and LIF along with the up-regulation of IL-18 in elderly myoblasts and it is involved in apoptosis and tissue destruction [38,39]. This situation seems further exacerbated by ubiquitin proteasome system pathway.
Brain and muscle Arnt-like 1 promotes skeletal muscle regeneration through satellite cell expansion
2015, Experimental Cell ResearchCitation Excerpt :To mimic the muscle damage-induced myogenic process in vitro, soluble fractions extracted from the crushed muscle, which was shown to contain mitogenic signals [19,26–28], were tested on myoblasts. Although various growth factors [29–31], inflammatory cytokines [32,33] or signaling molecules [11,16,34] have been reported to possess myogenic properties, the precise nature of the myogenic stimuli in vivo is likely to be a combination of varying molecules at specific phase of the regeneration process. Notably, Bmal1 is induced by CME as well as the candidate myogenic signals tested, Fgf2, Forskolin, and Wnt, suggesting that this clock activator is highly responsive to myogenic signals induced by muscle injury.
The Effects of Organophosphates in the Early Stages of Human Muscle Regeneration
2015, Handbook of Toxicology of Chemical Warfare Agents: Second EditionCombination therapy of human adipose-derived stem cells and basic fibroblast growth factor hydrogel in muscle regeneration
2013, BiomaterialsCitation Excerpt :bFGF is a known mitogen for skeletal muscle precursor cells and many other mesodermal cell types [17]. Tissue culture studies clearly establish that bFGF acts as a competence factor in both myogenic cell lines and primary culture of satellite cells from mice [16,27]. Thus, bFGF was loaded within in situ gel forming hydrogel for induction of myogenesis in this study.
The LIM-only protein FHL2 regulates interleukin-6 expression through p38 MAPK mediated NF-κB pathway in muscle cells
2012, CytokineCitation Excerpt :Nevertheless, further investigation of the interacting partners of FHL2 would be of important significant to determine the role of FHL2 in the regulation of IL-6 gene in FHL2-expressing tissues. Skeletal muscle is a significant source of IL-6 production in various conditions, including exercise [38–40], local muscle injury [41] as well as inflammation [42]. The mediators and molecular mechanisms regulating muscle IL-6 production are poorly understood.
