Prediction of soil hydraulic properties by Gaussian process regression algorithm in arid and semiarid zones in Iran
2021, Soil and Tillage ResearchCitation Excerpt :These results are in accordance with the results of Bayat et al. (2013), who found that dg, δg and BD variables along with other input variables can improve the accuracy and reliability of PTF with R2 values of 0.980 and 0.942, respectively. However, the SWRC depends on soil structural and textural properties at high (near saturation) and low matric potentials, respectively (Danalatos et al., 1994; Pachepsky and Rawls, 2003). BD is an indirect measurement of soil pore space and is generally affected by soil structure and texture (Touil et al., 2016).
Environmental factors and groundwater behavior in an agricultural experimental basin of the Brazilian central plateau
2018, Applied GeographyCitation Excerpt :Although Latosols can present clay texture with high amounts of clay in their composition (Campos, Lacerda, Silva, Sá, & Sousa, 2010; Lima, 2010) they present high hydraulic conductivity at soil's surface layers (Campos et al., 2006; Lima, 2010; Gonçalves et al., 2015). Soil's structure with a good distribution of pores (Danalatos, Kosmas, Driessen, & Yassoglou, 1994) can help explain this behavior. Hydraulic conductivity of Red, Red-Yellow and Yellow Latosols' surface layers, assessed in the Upper Jardim river Basin, has reached magnitudes of 3.64·10−4, 6.51·10−4, and 7.23·10−4m·s−1, respectively, against 2.12·10−4m·s−1 registered on Quartzarenic Neosols (Lima, 2010), which is a class of soil that present's high amount of sand in its composition (Mingoti, Spadotto, & Moraes, 2016).
