Low temperature lattice parameter of nickel and some nickel-cobalt alloys and Grüneisen parameter of nickel

Abstract

Lattice parameters of Ni and some Ni-Co alloys have been measured between 89 K and 300 K with the help of a fabricated low temperature diffractometer attachment. Measured lattice parameter a_T could be fitted by an equation (a_T−k₀)²/α²₀−T²/β²₀=1 to predict with reasonable accuracy the low temperature lattice parameter. Variation of Grüneisen parameter of Ni with temperature has been determined with the help of the present and other available data.
