Cannabinoid receptor-dependent metabolism of 2-arachidonoylglycerol during aging
2014, Experimental GerontologyMetabolic pathways for the degradation of phosphatidic acid in isolated nuclei from cerebellar cells
2011, Archives of Biochemistry and BiophysicsCitation Excerpt :The evaluation of NADH cytochrome c reductase demonstrates a slight (10%) contamination of nuclei by endoplasmic reticulum membranes. PAP1 enzyme has been detected in cytosol and endoplasmic reticulum [29,33]. We previously observed PAP1 activity in crude nuclear fraction obtained from cerebellum homogenate [34].
Differential modulation of phospholipase D and phosphatidate phosphohydrolase during aging in rat cerebral cortex synaptosomes
2002, Experimental GerontologyCitation Excerpt :Most tissues are capable of dephosphorylating PA, the specific activity being highest in rat brain (Brindley and Waggoner, 1998; Waggoner et al., 1995). With respect to the PAPase isoform present in synaptosomal membranes, our results are in agreement with previous studies on brain cortex demonstrating that NEM-insensitive PAPase (PAP2) is the only isoform located in synaptosomes (Fleming and Yeaman, 1995). Our results show that PAP2 activity in synaptosomal membranes from aged animals is significantly higher than that found in membranes from adult rats.
