  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Two new compounds, 4-dodecyl-1,3,8-trihydroxyanthraquinone and hexacosanoyl quinate, along with three long-chain compounds, heptacosyl eicosanoate, palmitic acid, 1-hexacosanol; two sterols, β-sitosterol, β-sitosterol-β-D-glucoside; one triterpene, lupeol; and two anthraquinones, chrysophanol and physcion, were isolated from the root bark of Cassia fistula. The chemical structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated on the basis of their analytical and spectral data.
