Abstract
Cervical disc herniation is a less frequent condition than lumbar disc herniation, but the resulting clinical picture can be even more severe and disabling, particularly in case of spinal cord damage. Surgical treatment is a valid and accepted option. It is a challenging surgery, limited to selected patients and a reasonable learning curve is necessary; the most efficacious and proved surgical technique is anterior discectomy and fusion. Surgical technical details and complications are described.
