Considerations about pharyngeal manometry

Abstract

Intraluminal manometry has the potential to provide relevant information for clinical or research studies of pharyngeal motor function. The usefulness of this information, however, depends on appropriate manometric instrumentation and technique. In this report, we discuss the instrumentation and techniques that are currently available for meaningful acquisition and interpretation of pharyngeal pressure phenomena.
