Summary

A carcinoid tumor was found within a Meckel's diverticulum as an incidental finding at autopsy in a 61-year-old Caucasian woman. The tumor showed superficial muscularis invasion in the absence of distant metastases. This case constitutes what is felt to be the thirty-sixth case in the world literature.

An associated congenital malformation was a cardiac atrial septal defect.
