This paper was read before the Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis at the New York Academy of Medicine on April 17, 1957. Professor Frankl is president of the Austrian Society of Psychotherapy and chief of the Neurological Policlinic of Vienna. He is the author of thirteen books.
