Summary
The fatty acids composed in the lipids of woman-milk has been tested by gas chromatography. The results are the same as the values found already by other authors. The examination of the feces made evident a composition of fatty acids in percent similar to that of womanmilk. The absorption of each fatty acid and of the total of fatty acids as well was identified by the difference between their administration with the woman-milk and their excretion in the feces: The value of absorption of stearic acid was about 74,7%, that of palmitic acid about 82,6%. The oleic acid, the linolic acid, and the linolenic acid were absorbed up to 85%, whereas absorption of the low-chained acids was about more than 90%. The absorption of the total of fatty acids amounts to 84,8%.
