Sorbitol elimination in patients with acute hepatitis

Summary

In patients with acute viral hepatitis sorbitol half-life-time is significantly prolonged: 48.5 minutes compared to 23.8 mintues in controls. Lactic acid levels in the whole blood after sorbitol infusion showed no significant differences between patients with acute hepatitis and the control group.

Zusammenfassung

Bei Patienten mit akuter Hepatitis läßt sich eine signifikant verlängerte Sorbithalbwertszeit nachweisen: 48,5 min gegenüber 23,8 min bei Kontrollen. Die Laktatkonzentrationen im Vollblut nach der Sorbitbelastung zeigen keine signifikanten Unterschiede zur Kontrollgruppe.
