Abstract
Adhesion energies of CVD-prepared TiC and TiN coatings on WC-Co-based cemented carbides are determined on the basis of an energy formulation of the scratch test. Values found for the adhesion energyW areW TiC=10 J m−2 andW TiN=46 J m−2.
