Summary

Massive intracerebral hemorrhage developed during open heart surgery on a normotensive patient. This type of hemorrhage ia a rare complication in such surgical procedures. The clinical and pathological findings suggest that drug-induced hypertension, systemic heparinization, and preexisting cerebrovascular damage are associated with the pathogenesis of the lesion.
