Summary

The paper is based on the two-year data on the monthly fluctuations of the various physico-chemical complexes operating in two fish breeding ponds of Husain Sagar Fish Farm, Hyderabad, India. It includes discussion on the inter-relationships of the following sets of factors.

  1. i.

Free carbon-dioxide, carbonate, bicarbonate, calcium and pH.

  2. ii.

    Sodium and chloride.

  3. iii.

Oxidizable and nitrogenous organic matter and C/N ratio.

  4. iv.

Oxidizable organic matter, magnesium, soluble iron and pH.

  5. v.

Free ammonia, nitrate and dissolved oxygen.

  6. vi.

    Albuminoid ammonia and nitrate.

  7. vii.

Total solids, pH, rain fall and water temperature.
