Abstract

The first serendipitous yet monumental discovery of graphene in 2004 immediately aroused considerable attention of researchers from all fields of science due to many of its unprecedented characteristics. In the beginning, the major research focus had been solely on macroscopic applications including the replacement of indium tin oxide (ITO) with chemical vapor deposition (CVD) graphene for flexible thin substrates for transparent electrodes. Relevant studies in the fields of physics, materials science, and electronics have thus been explored as well.
