Abstract
Growth-promoting activities of brassinosteroids (BRs) in various plant tissues (Adam and Marquart, 1986; Yokota and Takahashi, 1986; Meudt, 1987; Mandava, 1988), as well as application of BRs, especially brassinolide (BL) and 24-epiBL, to crop plants (Marumo, 1987; Takatsuto and Futatsuya, 1990) have been extensively investigated. However, at present, little is known about transport and metabolism of BRs applied to plants.
