Zusammenfassung

Die erstbeschreibung der foudroyanten Gangrän der Genital- und Anorektalregion wir im Allgemeinen Jean Alfred Fournier zugeschrieben [1], tatsächlich erfolgte sie jedoch über 100 Jahre zuvor durch Baurienne [2]. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine infektiöse, nekrotisierende Fasciitis. Die Inzidenz wird auf etwa 1 von 7500 Patienten geschätzt.
