Zusammenfassung

Der nosologische Begriff Kardiomyopathie wurde erstmals von Bridgen (1975) im heutigen Sinne angewandt Er bezeichnete damit Myokarderkran-kungen, die nicht durch eine Erkrankung der Koronararterien bedingt waren. Mattingly (1958, 1961, 1970) faßte ähnlich verlaufender aber auf eine Vielzahl ätiologischer Faktoren zurückführende Erkrankungen des Herzmuskels unter dem Begriff der primären myokardialen Erkrankungen zusammen. Nach der heute einheitlich angwandten Definition werden mit dem Begriff Kardiomyopathie alle Erkrankungen des Herzmuskels eprfaßt. die weder durch eine Koronarerkrankung noch durch eine Hypertonie im großen und kleinem Kreislauf noch durch ein Vitium des Herzens hervorgerufen werden (Grosse-Brockhoff 1971; Kühler et al 1972, 1973; Loogen u. Kuhn 1975; Kuhn et al. 1977).
