Abstract

In the era of CT, other examinations are often neglected in a determination to prove that the newest tool is always the best, rather than usually the best. There is a need to use other “conventional techniques” in some situations of central nervous system tumour diagnosis in children. These needs will vary with the facilities available, the expertise of the radiologist in various techniques, the needs of the surgeon, paediatrician, and chemotherapist, and the problems, age, and co-operation of the individual patient.
