Zusammenfassung
Visusverluste beim Glaukom und damit verbundene Erkrankungen sind im wesentlichen auf eine Schädigung des Sehnervenkopfs (SNK) zurückzuführen. Der Mechanismus der glaukomatösen Schädigung des Sehnervenkopfs bleibt trotz umfangreicher Untersuchungen zu diesem Thema seit Entdeckung der glaukomatösen Papillenexkavation vor fast 150 Jahren rätselhaft und ist stark umstritten. Ich habe mich mit diesem Thema vor einiger Zeit erneut auseinandergesetzt [67].
