Zusammenfassung
Cefotaxim1 ist ein neues, hochwirksames Breitspektrumantibiotikum aus der Zephalosporinreihe. Dieses Antibiotikum ist auch gegenüber β-Lactamase-bildenden gramnegativen Problemkeimen, wie z.B. E. Coli, Klebsiella sp., Proteus sp. u. a. stabil. Ein Teil der Pseudomonas sp. wird ebenfalls von Cefotaxim erfaßt. Da es aufgrund von in-vitro Testungen in vielen Fällen auch noch wirksam sein dürfte, wenn bereits Resistenzen gegenüber anderen Zephalosporinen, Acylureido-penizillinen und Aminoglykosiden vorliegen, erscheint dieses Antibiotikum für den Einsatz bei Patienten mit Infektionen durch gramnegative Keime, was im urologischen Bereich ja häufig anzutreffen ist, besonders interessant zu sein [1–6].
