Book cover Karl Fischer Titration

Part of the book series: Chemical Laboratory Practice ((CHEMICAL LABORA))

Abstract

Karl Fischer had originally recommended to titrate the solvent under investigation directly with the KF solution. In the following years, this procedure was further developed leading to an improvement in accuracy and reliability and to an extended applicability. The development of titration equipment led to modified techniques, too. This has resulted in three present-day standard techniques with specific advantages dependig on their field of application.
