Retinoids

Abstract

Relation between vitamin A and cancer is formerly known; the development of synthetic derivatives of vitamin A (synthetic retinoids) as an approach to prophylaxis of neoplasias has been continuing for over ten years (2, 9,10); the aromatic retinoid has in vitro or in animals an inhibiting action against cutaneous neoplasias (1). It appears therefore very interesting to test this drug in the prevention of cutaneous epitheliomas in human dermatoses with a high risk of cancer.
