Abstract

Auxin-induced cell wall loosening is considered to be brought about by biochemical modifications in cell wall components. There have been a number of studies on the changes in cell wall components during auxin-induced cell extension, and in some cases a good correlation between changes in mechanical properties and biochemical changes of the cell wall has been reported (5,6).
