Muscle Receptors

Part of the book series: Handbook of Sensory Physiology ((1729,volume 3 / 2))

Abstract

In the preceding section Barker has described in detail the structure of sensory receptors in skeletal muscle of various vertebrates. A variety of receptor structures are present, ranging from the highly organized, complex sense organ, the muscle spindle to free nerve endings.
