Zusammenfassung
Der chirurgische Zugang zum schwierigen Atemweg ist, unabhängig von der gewählten Methode, nicht die Methode der ersten Wahl. Die etablierten Algorithmen der wissenschaftlichen Fachgesellschaften zum „Difficult-Airway-Management“ zeigen hier einen klaren Entscheidungsweg auf (Baskett et al. 1995; Behringer 2002; Benumof 1994; Blanda u. Gallo 2003; Butler u. Clyne 2003; Deakin 1996; Krafft u. Frass 2000).
