Zusammenfassung
Für die krankengymnastische Therapie bei häufig auftretenden Erkrankungen werden neben Einzelbehandlungen zu ihrer Ergänzung und Fortführung über längere Zeiträume häufig auch Gruppenbehandlungen durchgeführt. Sie haben den Vorteil, zusätzlich zur funktionellen Therapie gruppendynamische Interaktionen zu vermitteln, was die Motivation des Patienten erhöhen sowie soziale Kontakte und das Selbstvertrauen fördern kann. Die Arbeit kann in geschlossenen, offenen und halboffenen Gruppen erfolgen. Die Gruppentherapie kann gezielter und wirksamer eingesetzt werden, wenn die Gruppen möglichst homogen sind, d. h. je einheitlicher oder ähnlicher die Krankheitsbilder und Krankheitsstadien sowie die Funktionsausfälle der Teilnehmer sind.
