Abstract

Age-related factors influence the pharmacology of drugs and their efficacy/safety ratio. Pain treatment recommendations underline a more tailored approach. However, pain treatment in older persons with cognitive disorders, communication problems, or dementia is complex. This chapter reviews the challenges of adequate pain management in older persons.
