Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma in the Neck of the Pancreas Involving the Celiac Trunk (Appleby Procedure)

Abstract

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA) is a devastating disease. Despite progress in other malignancies, the only chance for cure remains complete surgical extirpation of locally confined disease. In this chapter, we detail our preoperative workup with laboratory and imaging analysis, and highlight the key considerations before entertaining surgical resection via a modified Appleby procedure.
