Abstract

Packaging is one of the transversal elements that supports an efficient and sustainable supply chain. However, there are few methods to objectively measure the impact of packaging design on this efficiency and sustainability. In this paper, a method for designing boxes is presented (ESB, “Efficient and Sustainable Box”). Going beyond proposing a theoretical method, the authors have testing it in a company following the “action research” approach.
