Abstract
As more and more early intervention approaches for children with ASD are tested in clinical trials and implemented in the community, families and professionals must navigate an increasingly complex landscape of treatment options. One critical challenge is selecting the most appropriate intervention for the individual child among the various evidence-supported interventions, given the variability in learning strengths and needs among children with ASD. Additionally, it is difficult to select the right intervention provider in the community, given that the same intervention approach can be implemented differently by different providers. In this chapter, we review current literature and provide recommendations in these areas.
