Abstract
Forensic psychological assessment has a relatively broad scope and can be requested in both civil and criminal proceedings including family law. This edited book has elucidated the challenges of assessment for Asian Americans including the diverse range of ethnicities that make up the Asian culture. An added challenge to the forensic system is the disparity between the U.S. legal system and the endemic legal systems among the various cultures and ethnicities that make up the broader pan-ethnic group of Asian Americans. For the forensic evaluator additional care is required because the consequences of inaccuracy in assessment and corresponding recommendations are much greater, which is compounded by the limited availability of empirical research specific to forensic constructs and Asian Americans. Thus, while every effort is made to identify measure-specific recommendations, a majority of the considerations presented here are related to domains covered elsewhere in this book, with specific recommendations made for these domains through the lens of forensic practice.
