Abstract

Foundation treatment and construction of concrete dams can be discussed in three phases: (1) staffing and the interaction of the owner/designer and his inspection forces with the contractor’s staff; (2) schedule and scheduling techniques; and (3) execution or actual construction operations, including equipment and methods. This chapter reviews phases (1) and (2) and concentrates on phase (3), emphasizing advances made within the past ten years.
