Abstract
This chapter on surface effect immunoassays is written with a (slightly) futuristic view on what we consider will be the next generation of technology to be applied successfully to the measurement of antibodies or antigens for clinical purposes. This is a relatively new field based on well established physical principles ( for a general review of this area see reference 1).
