Abstract

Skin is a highly differentiated, multi-functional and multi-layered organ and thus susceptible to a variety of different types of diseases. This has resulted in the development of a multitude of topical drugs, differing in their mode of action, their ability to penetrate into the skin and in the way the skin reacts to them.
